Karl Hunter Jr, better known as SOLäRK, is an independent electronic musician whose sound fuses atmosphere with intensity, blending electronica, drum & bass, future bass, dubstep, and cinematic sound design into immersive, emotional experiences. Originally from Bowie, Maryland, and currently based in Pittsburgh, SOLäRK began releasing music in 2022, driven by a pivotal moment at his first concert: Tame Impala. Witnessing the way music united thousands of people in one space sparked a deep desire to create sounds that could connect listeners in the same way.

Early in his career, SOLäRK explored introspective, space-tinged textures and semi-niche electronic soundscapes. Over time, his style evolved into something more dramatic, heavy-hitting, and chaotic-yet carefully structured, reflecting his vision of “organized chaos.” Drawing influence from artists like DROELOE, Skrillex, and Tame Impala, he crafts emotionally charged tracks that aim to hit both the heart and the headphones, inviting listeners to travel through sonic worlds that feel both intimate and vast.

His 2023 single “DMT” marked a personal turning point, his first real venture into drum and bass, which showed him that his music could stand out and move people in unique ways. Since then, he has continued to shape his sound, experimenting with rhythm, melody, and cinematic elements to create tracks that could ignite a crowd while still carrying emotional weight.

Visually and conceptually, SOLäRK imagines a world on the brink of collapse-where music is the final force that brings humanity together to rebuild. This theme runs through his identity, guiding his creative decisions and giving his music a sense of scale and purpose.

While he hasn’t yet performed live, SOLäRK is preparing to step into DJing, honing his skills to bring his music into physical spaces. He’s also looking to grow his reach, attend more shows to absorb different styles, and build a community around his music—one that values emotional resonance just as much as energy.

Though naturally reserved, SOLäRK views music as his way of breaking through social anxiety without losing his quiet nature. With a growing catalog and a clear artistic vision, he stands at the threshold of the next chapter: bringing his cinematic soundscapes to larger audiences and creating shared experiences through the power of sound.
